FORT WORTH, TX – In a move sure to attract more pilots, American Airlines announced a new vacation policy that allows pilots to take unlimited time off. A spokesman for American confirmed, “Our top priority is ensuring we attract the best pilots, and this is one way to do that. We figured pilots would appreciate the extra flexibility.”

When asked how the airlines will make sure there are enough pilots to fly, the spokesperson responded, “We no longer care when, where, or how much our pilots work as long as the job gets done. We want them to work in an environment that suits them best, whether that is in the cockpit or at home.”

The airlines did note that this is a trial run for the time being and is subject to change in the future. “We though the best time to roll out this change was right before the holidays when travel is light and the weather is good. But we’ll monitor the situation closely and adjust as needed.”
