WILLIAMSTOWN – The city announced that it has introduced regulations for drone use for safety reasons. The city hopes to welcome drone use, but place a few restrictions on where they can fly.
The commissioner noted, “We are very excited about the drone industry and are committed to supporting our local pilots. But we also must make sure to keep people safe. As a result, drones are allowed to be flown anywhere except over public parks, buildings, roads, commercial zone areas, private property, beaches, and anywhere else you can think of outside of your own backyard.”
He added, “Hopefully these new rules will open up the skies for drones and allow us to take advantage of this wonderful technology.”
